It is undoubtably true that buying and selling stocks and shares can provide a very good standard of living but it can also lead to financial ruin if the market takes a turn for the worst. The very rich invest in penny stocks, but they have their highly experienced financial advisers to make sure that their money remains safe. The layman is not in this fortunate position, hence his investment must, by necessity, be more conservative. Penny stocks do allow the layman to participate in the stock market but these stocks are, by their nature, much more volatile.
